Event Overview

Shanghai Fashion Web is VELVET's annual event gathering industry leaders and global influencers from lifestyle, fashion and luxury industries to discuss the latest digital trends and technologies around China social media, e-commerce, mobile, digital innovation and emerging startups.

This year we covered key topics such as cross-border e-commerce, digital media innovations (virtual reality, live streaming, etc.), WeChat's latest innovations & trends and the rise of new business models (O2O, sharing economy, on-demand economy).

Patrice Nordey, Founder & CEO, VELVET

As Founder & CEO of Shanghai-based VELVET, Patrice consults for international companies in the deployment of Digital Marketing & Communication, Social Media and E-Commerce in China. Prior to VELVET he worked for BNP Paribas in Paris before relocating to Shanghai as APAC CEO of L’Atelier, the innovation arm of BNP Paribas. Patrice started his career in 1998 with the creation of Neteconomie.fr, a web magazine acquired in 2008 by M6 Group, a leading French media company.

VELVET is a digital marketing and communications agency. 

 


Thibault Villet, CEO & Partner,
Mei.com

Prior to founding Glamour Sales China in 2010, Thibault was President, Greater China of Coach, and Vice President of Luxury Products Division for L'Oreal in Japan. During his 13 years with L'Oreal, he held senior roles including Vice President and General Manager of the Luxury Products Division for China.Thibault holds an MBA from ESCP Europe specialising in international business

Mei.com is a leading luxury and fashion flash sales site in China. 

 


Persephonie Zhu,  Global Business Development Manager, TMall Apparel, Alibaba Group

Alibaba is China's leading e-commerce platform. 

 


Laura Ni, Apparel & Home Furnishing BU Worldwide BD Director, JD.com

JD.com is a leading Chinese e-commerce platform. 

 


Dominique Simard, Executive Director, Condé Nast Center of Fashion & Design

Dominique was appointed Director of Fashion Education for Condé Nast China in 2013. He previously held business and marketing director roles with educational institutions in Paris. Dominique is a graduate of University Laval, York University, National Taiwan Normal University and East China Normal University. 

The Condé Nast Center for Fashion & Design is a premier premier executive fashion education provider based in Shanghai. 

 


Michelle Ye, Fashion Stylist & Blogger

Michelle is an active blogger and entreprenuer, based in Shanghai.

 


Casey Hall, Freelance Writer & Editor 

Casey in based in Shanghai and writes for WWD, CNN Travel and the Wall Street Journal Asia. She was Managing Editor for Ismay Publications Ltd. and Editor at NVR Magazine. Casey graduates from RMIT University with a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Journalism. 

 


Jason Zheng, Key Account Manager, Luxury Brands, Baidu

Jason is responsible for luxury brands digital marketing solutions at Baidu. He previously worked in client management as a Business Development Consultant for HRnetOne in Shanghai. He's graduated from Cardiff University with a Master's in business strategy. 

Baidu is China's leading search engine. 

 


Joyce Chang, Chief Marketing Officer, Zanadu 

Before joining Zanadu in 2016 as Chief Marketing Officer, Joyce was Managing Director of PLUS Greater China for GroupM, and spent her early career with Ogilvy & Mather across Taipei, Beijing and Shanghai. She held senior roles including Managing Director for Ogilvy Fashion, Brand Team Leader, Business Director and Group Account Director. Joyce earned a Bachelor's Degree from Soochow University.  

Zanadu is an online travel agency specializing in e-Commerce, tourism, media, also offering vacation properties and travel experiences to Chinese travellers.

 


James Jin, General Partner, Ventech China

James joined Ventech China in 2014 as General Partner and sits on the board of its portfolio companies. He was previously Managing Director at Hidden Jade Capital specializing in cross-border M&A, and General Manager for OpenTel Communications in San Francisco. James has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. 

Ventech China is one of the leading venture capital funds focused on TMT, especially internet and mobile internet startups.

 


Sabrina Lee, Business Development Manager, Meitu

Sabrina works in business development for Meitu across their fashion and beauty segments. She specializes in digital marketing and advertising. Before joining Meitu, she was Senior Project Manager at Jiepang.com and Senior Copywriter for Hosn和声机构

Meitu offers image and video apps for iOS and Android platforms.
