China has created a new technological model which is inspiring emerging markets, like Indonesia, Brazil, India, or Nigeria, and developed countries alike.
As the author of East Commerce, Marco Gervasi realized 3 years ago that technology was fundamentally changing the way business is done in China. He put his own business on hold to start a research journey lasting 15 months. It led him to interview 200 key internet players and uncover the major dynamics of this new ‘made in China’ model.
What he discovered is that the period of business as usual is over. Traditional capital intensive methods of setting up and growing a business in China are giving way to smart technologies empowering individuals with limited resources to start their own enterprise. Social and economic progress has been tremendous as a result, but beware that competition is fierce.
